Ukraine Chess Championship 2012

The 81st Ukrainian Chess Championship is set to take place from 26th July to 7th August in the President Hotel in Kiev. Twelve players will compete in the round robin tournament.

Practically all the top national players, with exception of Vassily Ivanchuk, participate. Top seeded is defending champion Ruslan Ponomariov.

With the average elo of 2666 this is the strongest Championship ever in the history of independent Ukraine.
