Velislav Kukov has won the 1st Open “Old Capital” in Bulgaria

Old-CapitalThe 1st Open “Old Capital” took place on 1st – 6th May 2013 at the Hotel Etar in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.

Bulgarian IM Velislav Kukov finished clear first after getting 7 points in the 9 rounds Swiss open. The 30 year old took 2 000 BGN home for his efforts.

Seven players tied on 6.5/9, but the youngster IM Radoslav Dimitrov finished second on tiebreaks. GM Svonko Stanojski arrived third.

99 players registered to participate, including 3 Grandmasters and 9 International Masters. GM Petar Drenchev arrived as the first seed.
