Blindfold, May 8, 2007
A day before the start of the 3rd Mtel Masters, Veselin Topalov will play against the winner of last year’s “Guess Topalov’s moves” game – Alex Brunetti. Topalov will play blindfold, while Brunetti will be able to look at the board.
The game will take place at Grand Hotel Sofia. Last year at Bilbao more than 1000 people followed the games between Topalov and Polgar at the playing hall in the Basque city. The game will create high interest in Sofia as well and a full Sofia Hall is expected.
Alex Brunetti shared in an interview that he is very excited about the game. “I am very proud that I won the game, guessing 209 moves,” Brunetti says. “Topalov, together with Kasparov and Alekhine, is one of my favorite players.”
Alex Brunetti won last years game ahead of more than 1800 people from the whole world. Alex is an Italian candidate master from Como. He is also president of the italian group “Chess and computer science”.
Chessdom.com will be in Sofia from the 1st of May. Expect many interviews, photo reports, game analysis, and videos from Sofia.
