Victory Day Open 2013 – First leg of the Cup of Moscow

chess moscowThe Victory Day Open 2013 will take place on 4th-18th May at the International Center of chess education RSSU in Moscow, Russia.

This is the first leg of the 2013 Cup of Moscow. The first phase of the Cup will consist of 4 open events where the players will get credit points according to their performance. In the second phase, six players with the highest scores will meet four invited players in a round robin final that will have a prize fund that amounts to 100,000 rubles.

This first leg is a 9 rounds Swiss open with a time control of 90 minutes for the whole game plus 30 seconds increments per player.

Exactly 50 players have signed up to play, including 4 International Masters and 6 FIDE Masters. IM Pavel Dvalishvili is the first seed.
