Viktor Kupreichik Memorial in Minsk

The International Rapid Chess Tournament “Memorial tournament in honour of Viktor Kupreichik” will take place from 20-24th June 2018 in the Palace of Sports at the address: Minsk, pr. Pobediteley 4.

General organisation of the tournament is carried out by Belarus Chess Federation. Direct staging of the tournament is under the responsibility of the panel of arbiters. Chief arbiter – Natalia Popova, IА, e-mail: nata_chess@mail.ru. General secretary – Vasily Yakushev, FA.

Memorial tournament shall follow the Swiss system with 11 rounds in accordance with the FIDE Laws of chess and tournament regulations. Time control: 15 minutes per game with an increment of 10 second for every move, starting from the first move.

Any qualified chess player with FIDE ID who paid the tournament fee within the time limits and under the terms of these Regulations, registered within the time limits defined by these Regulations, and who presented the following documents during such a registration, shall be accepted as a participant of the Memorial tournament.

The winner of the Memorial tournament shall be awarded with a cup, medal and diploma of the I degree, awardees shall be awarded with medals and diplomas of respective degrees.
The tournament will have money prizes.

Main prize fund:
1st place – 2000$, 2nd place – 1000$, 3rd place – 500$, 4th place – 400$, 5th place – 300$, 6th place – 200$.

Special prize fund:
– Women: 1st place – 300$, 2nd place – 200$, 3rd – 100$;
– Boys and girls under 18 (year of birth: 2000 or younger): 1st place – 300$, 2nd place – 200$, 3rd – 100$;
– the best senior player among men (year of birth 1958 or older) – 100$;
– the best senior player among women (year of birth 1958 or older) – 100$;
– the best Belarusian player – 100$;

Special prizes awarded by the Chess Academy named after Viktor Kupreichik:
– the most senior participant of the tournament – 50$;
– the youngest participant of the tournament – 50$;

All tournament applications shall be sent to the following e-mail address: nata_chess@mail.ru with the subject “Participation in the Memorial tournament in honour of Viktor Kupreichik”. All applications shall be sent until 10th of June 2018.
The application shall contain the following information for each player: surname, name, date of birth, FIDE ID, player’s country and city, title (category).
