Vladimir Fedoseev Wins Vladivostok Tournament

The 18-years old Grandmaster Vladimir Fedoseev convincingly won the “Seaside Opening” (Primorskiy Debyut) open chess tournament in Vladivostok.

Fedoseev defeated the higher-rated GM Denis Khismatullin in the last round to conclude the event with 7,5/9 points, full point ahead of the nearest followers.

Seaside Opening took place on 21-29th July as a 9-round swiss open. The tournament is a stage of the Cup of Russia in classical chess.

The prize fund was 14,100 EUR with 3500 EUR dedicated to the winner.

Vladivostok also hosted the Pacific Meridian Rapid on 18-20th July. GM Vladimir Onischuk won this event.
