WGM Atousa Pourkashiyan sole winner of 6th FIDE World Online Women Blitz qualifier

FIDE ArenaThe sixth qualifier of the unique FIDE World Online Women Blitz Championship 2015 was being played on Thursday, September 10th, on the official FIDE Online platform.

22 players from 18 different countries took part in the event.

Iranian Olympic player WGM Atousa Pourkashiyan emerged a sole winner with 8/11 points, leaving the nearest followers half a point behind.

The second place was shared in a four-way tie by WIM Maria Elena Rodriguez Arrieta from Costa Rica, IM/WGM Irina Bulmaga from Romania, WIM Zenia Corrales Jimenez from Cuba and Anastasiya Ivanova from the Russian Federation, at 7.5 points each.

The last three spots were taken by  WIM Mihaela Veronica Foisor from Romania (7.0 points), WFM Roberta Messina from Italy (7.0 points) and Paloma Gutierrez Castillo from Spain (6.5 points).

Only two more qualifying tournaments will be played until the Semifinal (Date | GMT/UTC time):
– September 17th, 2015 | 7:00
– September 24th, 2015 | 13:00

The first stage of the Championship will be completed over eight (8) qualifier tournaments, followed by a semifinal with 64 players, and a final tournament with 10 players.

The competition takes place on the official FIDE Arena Online platform. FIDE Online uses AceGuard, anti-cheating and security software of new generation. Based on advanced behavioral analysis and the activities of the players, AceGuard indicates deviations from proper procedures of play.

Female players who represent a National Chess Federation, can play in the Championship. „FIDE flag“ players are not eligable to participate. Registrations for the FIDE event are continuously open. The players can compete from the comfort of their home, without costs associated with the hotels and airfares. A Platinum Membership is required.

A rich prize fund of 9000 USD will be awarded in the final tournament. Make sure to read the FULL Regulations.
