WGM Milunka Lazarevic turns 83 today

Milunka LazarevicWoman Grandmaster Milunka Lazarević, a famous player and chess journalist, is turning 83 today.

Lazarevic was 11-times Yugoslav champion, won many international events and tied for first place in the World Championship Candidates Tournament in Sukhumi 1964.

The legendary player is famous over her exciting playing style and fighting spirit. She was reluctant to agree to draws and preferred to play the games until the very end of possibilities.

Lazarevic is also International Arbiter and well-known journalist, having written articles for many local and international editions.
