World Individual Chess Deaf Championships

The 15th World Individual Chess Deaf Championships will take place from 27th September to 7th October 2012 at the Hotel & Resort Altyn Kargaly in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The Championships include various events:
– 15th ICSC World Individual Deaf Chess Championship (11 rounds Swiss)
– 5th ICSC World Individual Ladies Deaf Chess Championship,
– 3rd ICSC World Individual Juniors Deaf Chess Championship,
– 2nd ICSC World Individual Deaf-Blind Deaf Chess Championship,
– 1st ICSC World Individual Seniors Deaf Chess Championship,
– 4th ICSC Open Individual Deaf Chess Tournament,
– 31st ICSC Congress (on rest day, 1st October)
– 2nd ICSC World Individual Blitz Deaf Chess Championship (30th September in the evening)

On 2nd October the Mayor of Almaty will hold the reception for the Championships participants.

This is the first time in the history of the ICSC that the Championships are held in Asia and already the record of participation is broken. Around 180 players from 26 countries will compete and/or take part in the Congress.

This summer Kazakhstan already hosted prestigious chess tournaments – FIDE World Blitz and Rapid Championships.
