World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad in Chongqing, China

The Chinese Chess Association (CCA) and Chongqing Yu Cai Middle School will organize 2013 World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad in Chongqing, China, from 21 July (Arrival) to 30 July (Departure).

The Youth Olympiad will be conducted under the auspices of FIDE, Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and Chongqing Sports Bureau.

Each FIDE member federation has the right to send one team. It is the invited team. The local Organizer Chongqing Yu Cai Middle School will provide free board and lodging for this team of 4 players, 1 reserve and 1 captain (Manager, Trainer) from July 21 to 30 2013.

FIDE member federations have the right to send additional teams to U16 Olympiad. Additional teams from the same Federation will be allowed to participate if they pay the normal Entry Fee (€100) to FIDE plus €100 Organizing Fee to the organizers on arrival. Members of the extra team and other accompanying persons shall pay the accommodation by themselves. The LOC will try to provide the best accommodations for participants.

Entitled to participate are players who shall not have reached the age of 16, by January 1st 2013, (Date of Birth 1997 and after).

The tournament shall be run on a 10 Round Swiss System. Each match between teams will be conducted over 4 boards. 90 minutes to finish with 30 seconds increment from first move.

The deadline for entry is June 20, 2013. A penalty of €100 shall be imposed for entries received after June 20, 2013 and each of the player/official of the invited team will have to pay as penalty €30 per day for board and lodging.

FIDE entry fee is €100 for each team and should be paid before the first round.

Each player, official and accompanying person shall pay €100 as registration for the event. The participating Federation should make their application via the “Registration Form”.

All the players, officials and accompanying persons should stay in the dorms or hotels arranged by Yu Cai Middle School. The cuisine in Chong Qing is very famous in China. The LOC will try to provide the most delicious food for participants. It will take one hour from the airport to dorms and hotels.

Cities from where participants can transfer to Chongqing:
Beijing, Shang Hai, Guang Zhou, Hong Kong, Macao, Tai Pei Tao-Yuan, Tai Pei Tai Zhong, Tai Pei Gao Xiong, Bangkok, Phuket Island, Hanoi (the capital of Vietnam), Siem Reap, Singapore, Inchon, Tokyo Narita, Nagoya, Dacca, Munich, Dusseldorf, Doha, Male, Helsinki.

The OC will arrange the transportation between the airport and the hotels on the arrival and departure days.

We suggest that the players from one country wear the same uniform of your school or NOC.
