XI Calvia Amateur Chess Festival 2014

Calvia logoThe 11th Calvia Amateur Chess Festival 2014 is taking place on 4-12th October 2014 at the Palmanova Hall of the Sol Katmandú Park & Resort*** in Calvia, a municipality on the island of Majorca, Spain.

The event will be a 9-round Swiss event open to all players rated below 2350 who doesn’t obtain GM or IM titles. The tempo of play will be 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 15 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds increment starting from move 1.

The prize fund in the amount of 5.720 € will be awarded as follows:
Main prizes:
1.300 €/ 800 €/ 600 €/ 500 €/ 400 €/ 300 €/ 250 €/ 220 €/ 200 €/ 150 €/ 120 €/ 100 €/ 100 €/ 80 €/ 80 €/ 16-20th: free inscription for 2015 edition of the tournament.
Special prizes:
U2000: 130 €/ U1900: 100 €/ U1800: 80 €/ U1700: 70 €/ U1600: 60 €/ Senior 60+: 80 €.
The best female player and U18 player will be granted free inscription at the 2015 edition of the tournament.
