The Chess Continental Absolute Championship of the Americas is an official event of the Chess Confederation for America, promoted by the Dominican Chess Federation (FDA). The top four (4) will qualify for the “FIDE World Cup” phase of the Absolute World Championship cycle. The tournament will be valid for the International Rating and will award titles and norms according to the FIDE Titles Regulations. The tournament will be played by Swiss system in 11 rounds. Time control: 90 minutes with 30 seconds increment from the first move. The prize fund is $20,000 US dollars.
