Dommaraju Gukesh is now the second strongest junior in the world

16-year-old Dommaraju Gukesh continues to shine after winning three consecutive titles in the Open events. After the triumph at the 1st Chessable Sunway Formentera Chess Festival 2022, 1st Menorca Chess Open 2022, and the 48th La Roda Open 2022, Gukesh had a good tournament at the Sharjah Chess Masters, adding the total of 34.8 ELO points to his rating.

With four victories at XIV Cerrado Villa De Gijon which is currently ongoing in Spain, Gukesh hits his peak rating of 2692 and leaps to the second position on the live rating list for Juniors. Gukesh now needs only 8 more rating points to become the 6th Indian to cross 2700 and complete his first goal on the way to becoming World’s number one.
