Nine rounds are played at the Tata Steel Masters 2023 in Wijk aan Zee and Nodirbek Abdusattorov holds his lead in the event with 6.5 points. Anish Giri defeated Ding Liren to close the gap, and trails by half a point.

It was a thrilling game between Vincent Keymer and Nodirbek Abdusattorov. Keymer was slightly better from the opening, reaching the winning rooks endgame after almost 5 hours of play. However, he missed his chances to take off the leader, and after 80.Rb6, Abdusattorov managed to hold a draw.
