The 13th World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov gave an exclusive interview during the second round of Grand Chess Tour Romania 2022.
Kasparov shared his impressions about the first 2022 Grand Chess Tour event and the opening ceremony which took place in the Romanian Parliament: “It was spectacular! Chess now is back to where it belongs… It’s the level of respect and admiration that the game has been lacking for a long time.”.
Being asked about the simultaneous exhibition he joined before the event’s opening, Kasparov said: “It’s always about happiness and comfort of the players who are taking part in the simuls. It’s not for us (professionals) to enjoy it, but it’s an opportunity to test yourself against the best in the world and to get the moment of the glory, take pictures, shake hands.”.
