Khazar Open 2012 – Round 8

The 10th Khazar International Chess Open Tournaments A (+2100), B (-2100), C (Women) & D (Youth U 14) is taking place from 29th February to 7th March in Rasht, Iran.

103 players from eight countries, including 12 Grandmasters, compete in the 11-round Swiss in Open A.

Russian GM Oleg Korneev and last-year joint winner IM Giga Quparadze are leading the standings with 6.5 points each after eight games. There follows a big group of players on 6 points each.

The prize fund is as follows: Tournament A -$11,500, Tournament B – $4050, Tournament C – $3100 & Tournament D – $1800. The winner of the A Tournament gets $3000.
