Magnus Carlsen analyzes his victory over Nepo: He played too fast at critical moments

World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen had a perfect start at the 2022 Sinquefield Cup. He defeated Ian Nepomniachtchi taking the early lead in the event as the only player who delivered a victory in the Round 1 (Replay the game here). Analyzing the game against Nepo, Magnus explained that Ian made lots of inaccuracies during the game and overlooked some of his ideas: “This is just a game of somebody who is not in great shape. He was not finding right maneuvers. He was overlooking some of my ideas. Also, he was playing too fast at critical moments. He didn’t really sense them too much. I think I did well in creating a situation that was not pleasant for him, but certainly, he should have done better“. See the video below
