Pranav Venkatesh is the winner of Fujairah Global Chess 2025 in the Superstars section. Entering into the final round Pranav V had half a point advantage ahead of Sanan Sjugirov and Amin Tabatabaei. A draw would have been enough for the Indian player to secure a high prize, but he pushed with white and won his final game to finish with 7,0/9. Along the way Pranav V defeated Nihal Sarin, Eduardo Iturrizaga Bonelli, Jose Eduardo Martinez Alcantara, M. Amin Tabatabaei, Alan Pichot and drew with Aydin Suleymanli, Sanan Sjugirov, Brandon Jacobson, Abhimanyu Mishra.

The 1st Fujairah Global Chess Championship 2025 is a prestigious chess event hosted by the Fujairah Chess & Culture Club in Fujairah, UAE, from August 24 to September 1, 2025. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, this inaugural tournament is recognized by FIDE and is part of the 2025 FIDE Circuit, offering qualification points for the 2026 Candidates Tournament. It features over 530 players from more than 70 countries competing across three categories with a total prize fund of $125,000. The state-of-the-art Fujairah Chess & Culture Club, described as a “Fortress of Minds,” is a modern facility designed to foster chess and cultural engagement. It features the world’s largest chess queen statue and aims to position Fujairah as a global chess hub.
