Thailand Open R4 – Saptarshi Roy continues to impress

In Round 4 of the Thailand Open 2013 – 13th Bangkok Chess Club Open – being played at the Dusit Thani Pattaya from 14-21 April, IM Saptarshi Roy continued to impress, this time by beating in rapid fashion, his second successive 2600+ GM in China’s Lu Shanglei.

Joining him on 4/4 are Mark Paragua and Zhao Zong-Yuan, and that would ensure some interesting match-ups in round 5 as half a point behind and still very much in the mix will be Levente Vajda, Jan Gustafsson, Koneru Humpy, Oliver Barbosa, Sune Berg Hansen, Rogelio Antonio, John Paul Gomez, Ralf Akesson, Wan Wenguo, Darwin Laylo, Wang Chen and Xiao Yiyi.

Live games daily are at www.bangkokchess.com and pairings and results will be available at chess-results.com after each round.
