Ukrainian Parliament sanctions 55 Russian athletes including Sergey Karjakin, Anatoly Karpov and Sergei Shipov

Ukrainian Parliament has sanctioned 55 Russian athletes and one Ukrainian for showing support towards ongoing Russia – Ukraine war, writes Neil Shefferd for insidethegames.biz. The list of sanctioned athletes includes GM Sergey Karjakin (who was earlier this year banned from playing FIDE events for 6 months as he was found guilty of breach of article 2.2.10 of the FIDE Code of Ethics), GM Sergei Shipov (who wasn’t found guilty of breach of article 2.2.10 of the FIDE Code of Ethics) and legendary GM Anatoly Karpov (Member of the State Duma in Russia).
