The Chess Institute of Canada held the 2012 Toronto International on 15-20th July at the Annex Chess Club in Toronto, Canada. The tournament was played as a 7-round Swiss with 18 participants.

Top Filipino Grandmaster Wesley So took a clear first place with 6 points, leaving the talented Canadian IM Nikolay Noritsyn half a point behind.
