The 122nd New Zealand Chess Congress organizes the 2015 edition of New Zealand Open Chess Championship on 1-9th January 2015 in Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand.

The event is a 10-round Swiss tournament with time control 90 minutes for first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with the addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

Top-seed English GM David Howell (2670) heads the field of 115 players from 14 different countries.
