GM Alexandr Fier is champion of Brazil after winning in the final against GM Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian with 2-0.
The 2017 Brazilian Championship was a 16-player knockout tournament taking place from 6-15 February 2018 in Rio de Janeiro. Each Match consist of 2 classical games (90’+30″ per move), if tied a 25+10 match follows, still tied another 3+2 match and finally an Armageddon game (5 vs. 4).
