Croatian Chess Championship 2022 commenced in Split

The Croatian National Chess Championship 2022 commenced today in Split and takes place from November 28 – December 9 at Hotel Pax. It is a 12-player round-robin tournament with a total prize fund of 10.000 euros.

Four-time Croatian Chess Champion (2009, 2013, 2014, 2018) and European Chess Champion (2018) GM Ivan Saric headlines the filed which includes: 2010 Croatian Champion GM Ante Brkic, 2020 Croatian Champion GM Sasa Martinovic, two-time Croatian Champion GM Hrvoje Stevic, three-time Croatian National Champion GM Zdenko Kozul, two-time Croatian Champion GM Marin Bosiocic, GM Zoran Jovanovic, GM Ante Saric, three-time Croatian Champion GM Robert Zelcic, GM Bojan Kurajica, IM Darko Doric and IM Vladimir Bukal.

The time control of the event is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with 30 seconds increment for every move starting from the move one.
