Dragan Kosic leads at the Durres International Open 2013

The Albanian Chess Federation is organizing the International Chess Tournament Durres 2013 that is being played from 4 to 11 May 2013.

It is a 9-round Swiss System open in the Conference hall of Bleart Hotel in Durres, Albania.

The prize fund is € 8,650 and it will be divided into 15 regular  and 10 special prizes: 1st place – € 1,50o; 2nd place – € 1,20o; 3rd place – € 80o, etc.

The GM from Montenegro Dragan Kosic is leading the event with 4.5 points after 5 rounds. No less than 9 players are half a point behind, so everything is yet to be decided in the upcoming days.

Ten countries are represented in this event, with 11 Grandmasters and 3 International Masters among the 70 participants.
