FIDE Grand Prix in Palma de Mallorca

The fourth and final leg of the FIDE Grand Prix series will take place from 15-26th November at the Iberostar Bahía de Palma in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The tournament format is 18-player 9-round Swiss system.

The event will determine the last two qualifiers for the 2018 FIDE Candidates Tournament in Berlin.

The leader of the series after three tournaments is Shakhriyar Mamedyarov who has collected 340 points and second is Alexander Grischuk with 336.4 points. These two players have already completed their respective series. Ding Liren, who is fourth with 240 points, qualified from the FIDE World Cup in Tbilisi.

Teimour Radjabov (241.4) and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (211.4) are in position to fight for qualification.
