GM Nigel Short, winner of the Gibraltar Masters, will be a guest for the first part of the festival and will give a simultaneous exhibition on 30 boards, on 16th March.

The Mediterranean fishing village El Haouaria is situated on the most northeastern tip of Tunisia, Cap Bon. It is the land of sea, cliffs, oranges, geraniums, history and falcons.

Because of its many aspects of natural beauty it is one of the most attractive areas of the country and it is called ‘garden of Tunisia’. It is a resting place for migrating birds and it is popular for the breeding of falcons and the ancient sport of falconry.

Cultural and educational activities, excursions, film and theater performances and an art exhibition on the theme of falconry have been programmed to take place throughout the festival.
