GM Christopher Yoo, “I felt disrespected on every level by Hans Niemann”

Christopher Yoo has officially entered the Junior top 20 rating list three months ago after a fantastic performance at the US junior chess championship. Today, he managed to defeat with the black pieces the reigning US champion Wesley So (replay the game here). Rather than focusing on the game itself in the post match interview, Christopher Yoo shared his feelings about the game with Hans Niemann from yesterday.

“I feel like it is a great redemption from yesterday, especially after seeing the interview. I felt disrespected […] I felt disrespected on every level,” says Christopher Yoo and adds, “I do feel that I channeled in a bit of my anger from that to play some aggressive chess today.”

Susan Polgar: I cut my friendships with some fellow GMs because they were caught red handed cheating
Tony Rich: We have to assume Hans Niemann is innocent until he is proven guilty
