The 2022 National Chess Championship of Kazakhstan will take place from 1st – 12th December in Semey at the Cultural and sports complex “Abay Arena”. The event gathers 14 players who will compete for the title of the National champion in 13 rounds (round-robin system).
GM Murtas Kazhgaleyev headlines the field which includes IM Alisher Suleymenov, GM Denis Makhnev, Azamat Utegaliyev, IM Kazybek Nogerbek, IM Arystanbek Urazayev, IM Zhandos Agmanov, IM Aslan Aitbayev, IM Ramazan Zhalmakhanov, IM Konstantin Kazakov, GM Petr Kostenko, FM Daniyal Sapenov, FM Abilmansur Abdilkhair and IM Aldiyar Ansat.
The total prize fund of the event is ~5000 euros with ~1600 euros reserved for the new Kazakhstan Chess Champion. Chessdom will follow the event with daily news and videos and will broadcast the live games here.
