Levon Aronian: “It’s a problem when the tournament is organized too well” (INTERVIEW)

The USA team today won the important match against Georgia keeping the lead in the 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai. USA was convincing claiming the third victory with 3-1 score, despite the shaky start. Replay the match here

In the post-game interview, the second board of the USA team GM Levon Aronian spoke about his game against GM Mikheil Mchedlishvili, but also about the lost position he had in the first round. Being asked what happened in his first game, Aronian answered: “You know, the event is so well organized that sometimes it’s just that you get to relax. I mean, we swim every day, we have wonderful food, and the rooms are wonderful, so this is the problem when the event is organized too well“. See the complete interview below
