Mikhail Tal Memorial in Sochi

Concurrently with the FIDE World Championship Match between Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand, the Russian Chess Federation will hold Mikhail Tal Memorial on 13-14th November in Sochi.

Mikhail Tal Memorial will be a 12-player double round robin tournament with the time control 4’+2”.

The playing venue will be the 2nd floor of the Sochi Media Center in Adler. The 1st round will commence on 13th November at 15:00. The second leg will start on 14th November from 11:30.

It is expected that most of the participants from the Tigran Petrosian Memorial will move to Sochi to honour another legendary World Champion. The RCF will soon announce the complete field.

The total prize fund is 100,000 USD, with 20,000 USD reserved for the winner.
