More than 2500 kids at the traditional Alsterufer Tournament #TweetOftheDay

The Alsterufer Tournament 2022 took place today at Rathausmarkt with the participation of more than 2500 kids. In this traditional event, schools from one half of Hamburg compete against the other one playing chess each year.

The event opened after the first ceremonial move was made by tournament supporters and 6-year-old Lias who chose 1.e4. The winner of the last edition of the event, the district school Bergstedt, ceremoniously returned the challenge trophy and the event has started. The right side of Alster won the event by almost 80 points with the challenge cup going to the team from the Ida Ehrlich school.
