The Napoleon Chess Trophy 2023 is an exhibition taking place on 11th february 2023 in La Roche-sur-Yon. The French city was founded by Napoleon Bonaparte more than 200 years ago. The Trophy commemorates the famous Emperor and chess player.
Qualifying tournament : round-robin (players face their opponent one time with White and one time with Black). Time control is 3 minutes + 2 seconds per move for the entire game.
Napoleon Opening must be played (1.e4 e5 2.Qf3) !
At the end of this qualifying tournament, the 4 players will be ranked from first to fourth place.
Final: Players ranked 1 and 2 play for the title and players ranked 3 and 4 face off for third place.
