13th Khazar International Open Chess Tournaments

Chess Association of “Gilan” province on behalf of I.R. Iran Chess Federation has the honor to invite all players from national federations to participate in the 13th Khazar International Open Chess Tournaments from 11-18th February 2015 in Rasht city, Iran.

The tournament will take place at Yadegar Imam Sport Complex located in Golsar St, Rasht.

The event consists of four sections:
– Group A for Players rated over 2100
– Group B for Players rated under 2100
– Group C for Women
– Group D for Youth Players under 14 years Old (Boys & Girls)

The tournaments will be played according to the Swiss System of 9 or 11 rounds depending on number of participants.

Zero Tolerance Rule doesn’t apply. There is 30 minutes delay for the start of the round. The time control will be 90 minutes for the entire game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from the move 1.

Accommodation will be in Shabestan Hotel, Olympic Hostel & Emkan Tourist Complex. Hotel will be free for GMs & IMs. For other Players, accommodation rate for each night will be 25 US$.

Top prize in Open A is around 1500 USD. Last year winner was GM Azer Mirzoev from Azerbaijan.

The Chief Arbiter is IA Hamidreza Pourshahmari.
