Aimchess Rapid with Magnus Carlsen

The award-winning Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, the world’s leading year-round chess circuit, reaches its penultimate tournament with the Aimchess Rapid starting on Friday.

The eight-day event, the eighth leg of the $1.6 million Tour, will feature 16 world-class players. Top of the bill is World Champion Magnus Carlsen who is going for a first hat-trick of tournament wins after securing number 1 spot in the last event, the Julius Baer Generation Cup and the FTX Crypto Cup before that.

They are reigning World Rapid Champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Germany’s Vincent Keymer and a trio of Indian wonderkids in Arjun Erigaisi, Gukesh D and Aditya Mittal, who qualified via the MPL Indian Chess Tour.
