Chicago Open 2015

The 24th Annual Chicago Open will be held from 21-25 May, 2015, at the Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, 601 North Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, Illinois.

The event has 8 sections: Open, Under 2300, Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300 and Under 1000.

The Open section will be played over 9 rounds of Swiss system (May 21-25) with the time control 40/2, SD/30 d10. The section is FIDE rated and FIDE title norms are possible.

All other sections have either 4-day (May 22-25), 3-day (May 23-25) or 2-day (May 24-25) schedules to play in.

The event has a guaranteed $100,000 prize fund.

Open Section: $10000-5000-2500-1300-1000-800-600-500-400-400, clear or tiebreak winner bonus $300, top FIDE Under 2400/Unr $2000-1000.
Under 2300 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-400-300-300.
Under 2100 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-400-300-300.
Under 1900 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-400-300-300.
Under 1700 Section: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-400-300-300.
Under 1500 Section: $4000-2000-1000-800-600-500-400-300-300-300.
Under 1300 Section: $4000-2000-1000-800-600-500-400-300-300-300.
Under 1000 Section: $700-400-200-100, trophies to first 10, top U800, U600, U400, Unrated.
