The Superfinals of the 75th Russian Chess Championship and the 72nd Russian Women’s Chess Championship simultaneously took place in Cheboksary from 10-23 September. The events are being held at the Chuvash State Art Museum, being held as part of the Chess in Museums program carried out by the Chess Federation of Russia and the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation.
Both events were played as 12-player round-robin tournaments with Daniil Dubov and Valentina Gunina clinching the title of Russian Chess Champions 2022.

Daniil Dubov won the 75th Russian Chess Championship Superfinals after defeating Sanan Sjugirov in the tiebreak match. Both players scored 7/11 points to tie for the first place and the playoffs determined the winner. Two rapid games of the playoffs finished in a draw, as well as the Armageddon game, but Dubov claimed the title of the National champion as he had black pieces in the game of death.
