Charlotte Chess Center in North Carolina organized three ALTO (At Least Twenty-One) chess tournaments played in 5 rounds from April 29 – May 1 with a total prize fund of 5.500$.
The main tournament gathered 25 players including 3 grandmasters, while the U1800 and U1400 tournaments brought together more than 80 players.
GM Elshan Moradiabadi and GM Magesh Panchanathan scored 4/5 points to tie for the first place in the main championship. Moradiabadi had better tiebreaks but the two players shared the trophy and the prize.
