The Dutch player will follow the steps of other young players who came to the Master and dazzled the audience, as the Ukrainian Sergey Karjakin, the Hungarian Peter Leko, the Azerbaijani Teimour Radjabov and, above all, the current number one in the world, the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen.

Anish Giri has an interesting personal story because despite the fact that he plays under the Dutch flag, he’s the son of a Nepalese father and a Russian mother. In addition, he has mastered six languages, including Japanese.

Vassily Ivanchuk will participate for the third time in the city of León, after his victory in 2008 against the current world champion – the Indian Viswanathan Anand, who has the best record in the Master – and his defeat a year later against Carlsen.
