Magnus Carlsen headlines MrDodgy Invitational 3.0

The prestigious MrDodgy Invitational 3.0 is a 32-player tournament taking place on chess24 from 25 November to 1 December 2022. The event is played in two group stages A and B. Each group is a 16-player round-robin with a time control of 5+0. The best-ranked 8 players of each group will qualify for the knockout stage.

The group A games are played on November 25, while group B takes place on November 26. The Knockout stage of the event will take place from 27 November – 1 December. Each match of the knockout stage consists of 12 blitz games, and the first player who scores 6.5 points wins. If the players are tied at 6:6 they play a single Armageddon game, with the higher-rated player getting White.

Magnus Carlsen is the top seed of the Group A as he joined the event replacing GM David Howell who had problems with his internet connection. The group A includes: Daniil Dubov, Alexander Grischuk, Gawain Jones, Rauf Mamedov, Ivan Salgado Lopez, Jorden Van Foreest, Vincent Keymer, Adhiban B, Baadur Jobava, Simon Williams, Eric Rosen, Luis Paulo Supi, Alan Pichot, Hugo Ten Hertog, and Kamil Plichta.
