The 2022 Cape Verde Chess Championship took place from 7-11 December in Praia. The event was played as an 8-player round-robin tournament with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.
The top seeded IM Mariano Ortega Amaralle won the event scoring 7/7 points. He was two points ahead of Antonio David Anes and Gil Teixeira who tied for silver with 5 points, each. Tiebreak criteria favored Antonio David Anes who came second and Teixeira won bronze. Scroll down for final rankings
