Vincent Keymer wins ACCENTUS Chess960 tournament in Biel

The ACCENTUS Chess960 (ACC) took place today at the Main stage of the Concert Hall, Biel Congress Center within the Biel International Chess Festival 2022. The event was played in 7 round-robin rounds, with the starting position of pieces determined before the start of each round. The time control for the games was: 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move.

GM Vincent Keymer and GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov tied for the top scoring 5 points, each. The German grandmaster was crowned the Winner as he won two games with Black pieces, while Abdusattorov had one victory as Black. GM Liem Le Quang clinched bronze with 4.5 points. The total prize fund of the event was 4.500 CHF, with 2.000 CHF reserved for the Winner of the event, 1.500 CHF for the silver medalist, and 1.000 CHF for the bronze medalists. Simultaneously with the ACCENTUS Chess960, the Swiss Rapid Fischer Random Championship (960) took place in the same venue with 33 participants. The event was played in 7 swiss rounds, with time control: 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move. GM Surya Ganguly won the tournament with convincing 6.5 points, while GM Sethuraman and WGM Vera Nebolsina tied for the second place scoring 5.5 points. (Scroll down for final rankings)
