Danailov and ECU

Silvio Danailov announced his candidacy for ECU President in Rijeka, on 9th of March, 2010. This start of the campaign was several months late to the beginning of the campaign of Ali Nihat Yazici. However, Danailov’s campaign came with a full program which included some aspects that were not available in other tickets: ECU to become attractive to media, chess to be in most European schools, and more contacts with country officials and celebrities.

The ticket of Silvio Danailov, which will be the team to work in the following four years for ECU, includes not only chess professionals, but managers in different areas and from different parts of the world (full CVs of the team here). All of them expressed the hope for professionalization of the ECU and stability of the institution (read interview with Tomasz Sielicki, with Ion-Serban Dobronauteanu, and with Almog Burstein)

Silvio Danailov has promised to work on four pillars of a stable ECU, including feedback support, training of ideas, ethics in relationships, and outside support for chess. Among the future co-operations, ECU will work with UNESCO, will collaborate with Mensa, and create a club of the chess journalists.
