Ray Robson wins the SPICE Cup Open 2012

The Webster University SPICE Cup Open took place on 16-20th October at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, USA.

The SPICE Cup Open was held alongside the SPICE Cup Invitational and offered a prize pool of $ 10,000 ($ 4,000 for the winner). The tournament was a 9-round Swiss event.

GM Ray Robson, member of the USA national team, took a clear first place with 7 points, leaving the Cuban GM Fidel Corrales half a point behind.

The third place was shared by GM Alejandro Ramirez, GM Viktor Mikhalevski and IM Vitaly Neimer.

Neimer also earned a GM-norm. In addition, IM norms were fulfilled by FM Kayden Troff, FM Aman Hambleton and NM Nolan Hendrickson.
