Serbian teams for the 2012 Chess Olympiad in Istanbul (Updated)

The newly appointed captain of the Serbian Women’s Team, GM Igor Miladinović, announced the lineup for the World Chess Olympiad, which will be held in August in Istanbul, Turkey.

The country will be represented by IM Nataša Bojković, WGM Anđelija Stojanović, WGM Marija Manakova, WIM Marija Rakić and WGM Ana Benderać.

WIM Marija Rakić qualified as the winner of the recent Serbian Women’s Championship.

At the 2011 European Team Chess Championship in Porto Carras Miladinović was the Team’s coach while Benderać acted as captain. Benderać now returns to the role of the player.

Captain of the Men’s Team GM Boško Abramović will announce his lineup immediately after the Serbian Championship which is currently ongoing in Vrnjačka Banja.

Update:
After the conclusion of the Championship, Abramović presented the team – Ivan Ivanišević (reigning champion), Robert Markuš (top board at the 2006 Turin Olympiad), Miloš Perunović, Nikola Sedlak (top board at the 2010 Chess Olympiad) and Dušan Popović.

GM Branko Damljanović is appointed as team’s trainer.
