The winner of Zurich Chess Challenge 2013 and winner of Zurich Rapid 2014 Fabiano Caruana will be back for another shot at the title.

Just like in previous edition, the event will start with a blitz opener.

Then on the last day another round robin, only with shorter time control, will be completed. In this format the win will be awarded with 1 point and draw with a half-point.

The winner will be announced after summing up the scores from both formats.

The tournament sponsor is Russian businessman Oleg Skvortsov, with the support of the world’s oldest chess club Zurich.
