Belarus Chess Championships 2015

belarus-flagThe 81st Belarusian Men’s Championship and 59th Belarusian Women’s Championship were held from 12-22nd January, 2015, at the RCOP, Minsk.

The men’s event started as a 12-player round robin, but Aleksandr Kocheev dropped out after four games. The women’s event was a 10-player round robin.

Grandmasters Kirill Stupak and Aleksej Aleksandrov shared the first place in men’s section with 8,5/11 points each. Stupak is crowned new national champion thanks to the better Koya tie-break.

WIM Lanita Stetsko became the new women’s champion after concluding the race with 7,0/9 points. Full standings below.

Pavel Smolich scored an IM-norm. Olga Badelka and Ekaterina Bogdan completed the national master norms.
