The Russian Superfinal for men is taking place from 28th November to 8th December at the Historic and Architectural Complex of the Kazan Kremlin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The tournament is organized by the Russian Chess Federation in cooperation with the Charity Foundation Elena and Gennady Timchenko, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The total prize fund is 118,000 EUR.
Superfinal is a continuation of the program “Chess in Museums” launched on the initiative of the RCF President Andrei Filatov.
The event is a 10-player single round-robin tournament with the participation of: Sergey Karjakin (2770), Dmitry Jakovenko (2745), Peter Svidler (2743), Alexander Morozevich (2724), Nikita Vitiugov (2738), Ian Nepomniachtchi (2714), Igor Lysyj (2686), Denis Khismatullin (2679), Boris Grachev (2669) and Vadim Zvjaginsev (2655).
