The 3rd Arab Elite Chess Championship – Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Cup is taking place from 27th May to 3rd June, 2015, at the Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Hall of the Dubai Chess and Culture Club.
The event is organized by the Arab Chess Federation and UAE Chess Federation, in collaboration with Dubai Chess & Culture Club, to gather 16 players from 15 Arab countries vying for the most prestigious individual chess title in the region.
The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with an average Elo rating 2272. Top seed is GM Bassem Amin from Egypt.
