Makedonia Palace Grand Prix in Thessaloniki

The 5-star Makedonia Palace Hotel and its owner, mega-investor Ivan Savvidis, are FIDE’s sponsors for the 12-player Grand Prix Chess Tournament in the historic city of Thessaloniki from 22 May to 3 June 2013.

Participants include former FIDE World Champions Veselin Topalov, Ruslan Ponomariov and Rustam Kasimdzhanov, while the total prize fund of the 6-tournament FIDE Grand Prix is a whopping 1.44 million euros.

The organizers invite all chess fans (and not only) to visit the playing venue in Makedonia Palace for a truly unique experience.

The opening ceremony will be held on 21st May at 18:30.
